Job Opportunity: News Editor
Location: Remote
Job Status: Part-time
The Position:
We are currently seeking a part-time News Editor to join our editorial team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for independent journalism.
Responsibilities:
Produce news stories each week, focusing on politics, culture, and business.
Demonstrate a commitment to our accountability journalism model.
Craft clear, compelling, and accurate copy on complex and highly scrutinized subjects.
Meet deadlines consistently.
Stay informed and responsive to the evolving news cycle.
Collaborate with a small team of remote journalists.
Utilize digital tools, including Google Docs, Slack, and Signal.
Uphold impeccable organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Strong experience and passion for independent journalism.
Proven ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with digital tools and platforms.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a remote team.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
